How do I tell if I have a broken spring on my door? 

  • With springs over the door there will be a gap in the coils
  • With springs on the side of the door the spring will be gone or dangeling in place

Can I change the garage door spring myself?

  • This is not recommended, the springs hold a lot of tension and one wrong move can send it flying across the room resulting in injury.
